Robert J. Reese, LS, will make a presentation about establishing boundary lines in an area subject to subsidence – not disastrous, immediate earthquake type subsidence, but a slow shift of the earth.
The account involves LA County’s actions and causality, a city’s attempt to stop mother nature, and various surveyors’ attempt at retracement in a shifting environment.
Attendees will be offered an opportunity to comment on the methods and reasons of a survey that has been questioned by the LA county counsel, other surveyors and some landowners.
Just how hard can it be?
