Celebration of the Mount Diablo Initial Point MAP
Join surveyors, historians, and park rangers to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the Mount Diablo Initial Point, the reference from
which much of California’s and all of Nevada’s public land surveys originate
- Historical Surveying demonstrations
- Family-friendly learning activities
- Ranger talks about Mount Diablo
- Educational exhibits on the Public Land Survey System
Addition Details
- Upper parking lot has limited space, lower parking lot (1/4 mile) has additional parking, restrooms, picnic tables, and pedestrian trail or paved road to the summit.
- Allow approximately 45 minutes to drive from either the north or south gates of the park up to the summit.
$10 state park gate entrance fee - Park opens at 8am – closes at sunset
Bring your lunch / snacks / drinks / sunscreen and enjoy the whole day!
