SUMMARY:Where survey firms are quietly losing money (Free Educational Webinar)
DESCRIPTION:Hi\, \n\n\n\nMost survey firms don’t struggle because they’re bad at surveying. \n\n\n\nThey struggle because no one ever taught them the commercial side of running a survey business. \n\n\n\nAcross the industry\, we’re seeing the same pattern again and again. \n\n\n\nNot a lack of work … \n\n\n\n… but a slow\, quiet leak in revenue that most firms never measure. \n\n\n\nIt usually shows up as: \n\n\n\n\ntime spent on the wrong activity\n\n\n\ndiscounting just to win work\n\n\n\nmissed projects you never even hear about\n\n\n\nfixing things later that should’ve been built properly from the start\n\n\n\n\nIndividually\, none of these feel like a big deal. \n\n\n\nBut when you add them up … it’s often $$$’s a year. \n\n\n\nSo we’re hosting a webinar to break this down properly\, in a way that actually makes sense for surveyors. \n\n\n\nNo fluff. No “just post more on LinkedIn” advice. \n\n\n\nJust a clear look at where the money is going\, why it’s happening and what to fix first. \n\n\n\nIf you’ve ever felt like your pipeline is more reactive than it should be … this will feel very familiar.

SUMMARY:Global Surveyors' Day
DESCRIPTION:The path to Global Surveyors’ Day began back in ancient Egypt when society first used surveying techniques to divide land. Throughout history\, surveyors have remained the pioneers of discovery shaping our world to its current existence by exploring the unknown on earth and in space. Fast forward to 2013 when the signing of the Budapest declaration created a common worldwide celebration for those leaders\, past and present. We are proud to proclaim Global Surveyors’ Day as a way to globally recognize the ground-breakers\, pioneers\, individuals and the industry that has shaped our history and continues to be the foundation of our communities.

SUMMARY:Vernal Equinox
DESCRIPTION:From Wikipedia (Full article here) \n\n\n\nA solar equinox is a moment in time when the Sun appears directly above the equator\, rather than to its north or south. On the day of the equinox\, the Sun appears to rise directly east and set directly west. This occurs twice each year\, around 20 March and 23 September.[a] \n\n\n\nAn equinox is equivalently defined as the time when the plane of Earth’s equator passes through the geometric center of the Sun‘s disk.[7][8] This is also the moment when Earth’s rotation axis is directly perpendicular to the Sun-Earth line\, tilting neither toward nor away from the Sun. In modern times[when?]\, since the Moon (and to a lesser extent the planets) causes Earth’s orbit to vary slightly from a perfect ellipse\, the equinox is officially defined by the Sun’s more regular ecliptic longitude rather than by its declination. The instants of the equinoxes are currently defined to be when the apparent geocentric longitude of the Sun is 0° and 180°.[9]

SUMMARY:New Look for Parallax!!
DESCRIPTION:We have been concerned about how well the Central Coast Chapter’s website serves the members and local surveying community for some time.\n\nThe site is set up as a blog\, where the posts are shown in chronological order down the page. When we created this site that seemed like a great way to present information to the surveying community. What we have found is we generally get mulitple post at the beginning of the month\, so if we have a long posts\, some new fresh post do not get many views because it is so far down the page.\n\nThis format does not work the best for how we use our website. We are more of a news type website than a blog type. We believe it would be better to have a site that has a short excerpt of a post and then a link to read the full post. This allows many more of the posts to be seen quickly.\n\nWe are hoping this format will enhance the website and make it more of a hub for the chapter.\n\n\nAlso – Looking for a Website Editor: \n\nTakes about 4 to 8 hours a month\n\nExcluding articles written by the editor\n\n\nNeed to know or want to learn WordPress Web content management system\n\nPrimarily use site editor for managing the website\nWork with blocks\nUnderstand the administrative site also\n\n\n\nIf interested contact Chapter President\, if you have questions about the site contact Tom Mastin @ tbmastin@gmail.com
